Secrets to having a whiter brighter smile

Robert E. Blackmon

Having healthy white teeth are important to your overall health. They also can give you confidence when facing the world. There are many methods of cleaning and whitening one's smile on the market today. Here are a few simple things you can do to achieve and maintain a happy and healthy smile.

Manual vs. Electric Toothbrush

It doesn't really matter which source you choose. Every brush is different and has different features. Choose the kind of brush that works best for you. Dentists recommend that you brush between every meal. You should keep a portable or extra brush with you when you are away from home if you are following this principle.

Be sure to change your manual brush every three months or change out the head of your electric brush. Bacteria builds up in the bristols so replacement is very important.

Cleaners

Toothpaste, hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and salt are all products that can be used to brush your teeth. They can all be combined to make a whiting paste. This formula is similar to what you would find in whiting strips.

Strips and Trays

There are a variety of strips on the market. It is recommended that you choose a leading brand with a good reputation rather than a discounted one. Trays are more expensive, but give your the same results. They can either be purchased over the counter or a mold made for you by your dentist.

Floss and Picks

Cleaning the debris after meals is crucial in oral health and tooth decay. It also helps from the discoloration of the teeth and genitives.

And of course there's nothing like regular visits to your dentist to ensure that smile stay bright and white for years to come!
